May 26, 2024 | Pennsylvania Rep. Houlahan introduced an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would automatically register young men for a military draft with the Selective Service System.
Congress is deeply committed to endless war. However, most members of Congress have never served in the military. The amendment states:
“Except as otherwise provided in this title, every male citizen of the United States, and every other male person residing in the United States, between the ages of eighteen and twenty-six, shall be automatically registered under this Act by the Director of the Selective Service System.”
It’s time to stop funding wars and instead provide opportunities and a brighter future for young people. Tell House and Senate members to reintroduce the Selective Service Repeal Act, repeal the Military Selective Service Act, and abolish the Selective Service System.
