Congress Votes to Extend Warrantless Spying Program

December 15, 2023 | Image Source | In approving the 3,000 page, TRILLION-dollar National Defense Authorization Act, both houses of Congress voted to authorize the extension of section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), allowing continued unconstitutional warrantless surveillance of Americans even if they are not suspected of committing any crime. Under section 702, “intelligence” agencies such as the FBI collect information scraped from phone calls, texts, and emails from Americans – without their knowledge or consent.

In a Blaze op-ed Utah Senator Mike Lee wrote, “The FBI has used Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to conduct warrantless ‘backdoor’ searches of the private electronic communications of American citizens. It has done so, moreover, not just sporadically and by accident but quite deliberately and on hundreds of thousands of occasions.”

In addition to extending the illegal spying program, Members voted to prevent any future president from withdrawing the US from NATO.

With unconstitutional policies, reckless spending, and inappropriate behavior as the norm, many may be wondering if it’s time to defund Congress.

Congress has voted to pass the NDAA—in which they deceitfully concealed an extension of the warrantless spying program ("Section 702") universally opposed by the public.

Last year the FBI exploited 702 to spy on Americans (protestors, donors—even Congress) more than 200k times.
